The ongoing woes bedeviling Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho are not emanating from State House but his political nemesis, Mombasa Senator Omar Hassan, Dr David Matsanga has sensationally claimed.
The outspoken Matsanga, while appearing on PunchlineTV, said Hassan was behind the Mombasa Governor’s trouble. He pointed at the claims made by the Mombasa Senator that Joho had five guns which turned out to be false.
His latest run-in with the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC), according to Matsanga, was meant to elbow Joho from the Mombasa gubernatorial race to pave way for Omar.
Joho is being investigated for allegedly forging his Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) results where he scored a C+ at Serani Secondary school.
KNEC disputed that the Governor was a student at Serani prompting the institution to issue a statement that contradicted the examination body.
Hassan is eyeing the Mombasa governor seat on a Wiper ticket. If Joho is found to be guilty of falsifying his documents it will means he will be disqualified from vying for the coveted seat. Hassan will be the hot favorite to clinch the seat.
It is widely believed in opposition circles that President Uhuru is pulling the strings to ensure Joho is not reelected.
This follows brazen attacks on the President’s development track record in the county by Governor 001.
